Here are Ballistic, we couldn’t do what we do without the knowledge, experience and skills from the women in our team and across the brewing industry. One of the organisations that help empower and support the women in the Beer industry is Pink Boots Society – an organisation created to assist, inspire and encourage women and/or non-binary individuals in the fermented and alcoholic beverage industry to advance their careers through education.

The celebrate the positive influence of opportunity and diversity within the brewing industry and community is the annual Pink Boots brew day. Brewery members across the country work with Pink Boots to host professional development and community networking days for its female members. Suppliers, industry experts, brewers, colleagues and community partners all come together in support of the advancement of women in the Beer Industry.

To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Pink Boots in Australia, Ballistic was honoured to host this event and deliver an experience to mark the occasion. We brought together women working within the beer industry to discuss ways we can positively and collaboratively disrupt the paradigms that prevent diversity and opportunity for women in our industry in all its forms.

Our incredible team of women all believe strongly in the benefits of a diverse workforce with gender being one of the many dimensions in ‘diversity’. It was a great day of meaningful and courageous conversations across the room as well as great food!

The day started with a keynote discussion from Louise at the National Association of Women in Operations on disrupting paradigms followed by a Q&A panel chaired by Gunjan Allen our Head of Marketing. Our Panelists included - Lauren Jack COO - Ballistic Beer, Narelle Lukasik Brewing Team Leader - Lions, Lucy Shorrock Brewer- Stone and Wood and Louise Weine CEO- national women association of operations.

Following the discussion, we delved into sensory tasting and a pathway to judging followed by a hop sensory session led from Yakima Chief Hops distributed by Cryer Malt in Australia.

While we were all occupied with the day's activities, our Ballistic Brew team were working hard in the background to start brewing our Pink Boots Beer for this year - a Red Rye IPA. On tap at Ballistic Salisbury from 11 August 2022. All proceeds will go towards the Pink Boots Society.

We want to thank our partners that helped make the day a success; the National Association of Women in Operations, Alphabet Café, Clare Scrine Cooking, Busy Head, Food Connect, Yakima Chief, and our amazing internal team and of course Pink Boots.
